Parents & Students

At Bradner Elementary, we encourage a strong relationship between the students, parents and staff at our school to ensure our students have a challenging, rewarding and fulfilling year.

There are many ways to be a volunteer at Bradner Elementary School.  Just to name a few:

  • Parent Advisory Council
  • Library
  • Classroom (reading with students)
  • Noon Hour Supervisors (paid position)
  • Supervising students on field trips
  • Driving on field trips

If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer, or have any questions, please come by the office, we will also have you fill out an AP 416-2 Volunteer Application Form.  These forms need to be filled out on a yearly basis.  In addition, the Ministry of Justice has introduced new regulations requiring ANY volunteer who comes near or works around children to complete a criminal record check, regardless of the time spent working near or around them. This new requirement involves a Criminal Record Search, valid for 5 years, which will include a Vulnerable Sector Search.

Attention Current Volunteers

If you are currently volunteering in your child’s classroom, helping out on field trips, volunteering in our school for special events, volunteering as part of our Parent Advisory Council, are a Noon Hour Supervisor etc., you must have criminal record check clearance as of  January 31, 2020, in order to continue in your role.

Current volunteers WITH a current criminal record check on file at our school will be required to obtain a new one through this new process. You are required to go to the Abbotsford School District Board Office to fill out a criminal record check consent form and will need to provide 2 pieces of approved ID. This must be completed as of January 31, 2020, to continue in your role.  Please visit the School Board Office to fill out the CRC consent form and present two pieces of approved ID (one primary and one secondary).  A list of approved ID is attached below.

CRC Process:  Option 1 - Employees/volunteers come to the School Board Office - reception desk to complete the manual CRC form, and must bring 2 pieces of I.D. (primary and secondary I.D. requirements attached) to verify themselves.  Once the form is complete, the district's authorized contact submits the form to the CRRP for processing.

CRC Process:  Option 2 - online process (this process can only be used for volunteers, not employees).  Volunteers may complete the online CRC form rather than come to the School Board Office - reception desk.  The volunteer will need to access the following website:  https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/  and will need to use the following access code:  5EU2ZSHRB5 to register online.

Please contact our school if you have any questions regarding this new requirement.
