Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2020!

Students and staff have arrived back to school looking happy and well rested. After a fun holiday season we are all ready to get back to the business of learning!  This year, Bradner students and staff are focussing on developing a growth mindset and applying this to all aspects of school life. What does this mean? Having a growth mindset means you are ready and willing to challenge yourself. It means you view mistakes as a learning opportunity, and you are not afraid to try for fear of failure. Everyone has certain things they are good at, and find easy to do, and other things that are harder. It is when we tackle those harder things that we grow our brains and our abilities. So at Bradner, we are encouraging all students and staff to reach beyond their comfort zone. To not let a challenge stop them from trying. To learn from their mistakes so they can do better next time. We understand that we are each on a unique learning journey, and need to push ourselves forward from where we are at, no matter what it is we are trying to learn. School is a safe place to make mistakes, and a wonderful place of opportunity, to try new things, and practice the things we still need to master. Take a moment to check in with your child, and see if they can tell you about their own growth mindset. I think you will feel inspired!
